Living Spaces
We helped our Edmonton, Ritchie clients transform a tightly partitioned two-bedroom bungalow into a new “Chelsea Market, New York City-feel” one-bedroom layout that is open and spacious.
This was a small 1940s-era two-bedroom home in a very desirable area just south of Edmonton’s popular Whyte Ave. The main floor was very partitioned and did not suit the clients’ lifestyle. They needed a larger front entry and more functionality in terms of storage and utility options.
They wanted the living room, kitchen, and nook to be opened up to accommodate larger gatherings. They were interested in creating a “Chelsea Market, NYC” feel in this new great room. They also wanted a large garage in the back.
To accomplish this vision, the walls dividing the kitchen, nook, and living room were removed and a great room created. The second bedroom was absorbed into a larger front entry with loads of storage options.
The master bedroom was enlarged, along with its closet. The existing bathroom was updated. The result: a fantastic, functional living space for this young couple, along with a larger, more useful garage.
We’d love to hear about your project.
